CardCash. Green since 2009

Did you ever know CardCash is an environmental company. Accidentally. Maybe. But it’s what we do.

How? Americans buy about 10 billion gift cards a year. And a huge percentage of them never get used. Billions of dollars of unused balances sit in drawers, wallets, and forgotten inboxes — cards that got made, printed, shipped, and handed over, only to do nothing.

That’s where CardCash has been quietly useful since 2009. We buy unused gift cards and resell them to people who actually want them. Over a billion dollars worth so far. Every one of those, is a card that got used for the thing it was made for — instead of sitting untouched until it expired or got tossed.

It’s the opposite of how most commerce works. We don’t make new things. We keep existing things in circulation. Same idea as buying a used car or a refurbished phone — just applied to the little rectangle in your wallet.

We’re not (yet) carbon-neutral. We haven’t (yet) planted a forest. But every card that gets a second life on CardCash is one more thing that actually did its job instead of going to waste.

Got a card you’re not using? Sell it here. Looking to save on something you were going to buy anyway? Buy one here.

CardCash Accidentally green since 2009.
