Walmart discounted gift cards, already one of the most sought after gift cards on the secondary market, are now even more valuable if you’re local Walmart has a gas station. The retailer announced its Great Gas Rollback program last week where customers can save as much as 15 cents per gallon. Customers using a Walmart gift card will receive a 10 cent per gallon discount, while those who use a Walmart MoneyCard or Walmart credit card will save 15 cents per gallon.

With Walmart gift cards on sale available at CardCash.com at 3% off, the savings at the pump in about 18 states rises to roughly 20 cents a gallon when using your gift card, based on today’s national average of $3.59 per gallon of gas.

Buying discounted Walmart gift cards also saves you the hassle of going into Walmart and picking up a card there. Who doesn’t end up spending more once they walk into Walmart, which is one of the reasons behind the gas rollback. With sales at Walmart stores lagging, the country’s largest retailer wants to get customers into the stores to buy the gift cards where they will inevitably end up buying more than they intended do.
