What is CardCash?
CardCash buys unwanted gift cards for less than their value and resells them at a discount to savvy shoppers across the country. It is a great way to get cash for your unwanted gift cards, and to save money on all your purchases with discounted gift cards.
How do you sell gift cards for less than their value?
Billions of dollars worth of gift cards are gifted every year to people who have no interest in shopping at that merchant. Those people sell those cards for less than their face value and we pass on some of those savings to you!

Buying gift cards
Where do your discounted gift cards come from?
People like you across the country that received cards that they don't need sell them to us for less than their face value. We pass along some of those savings to you.
Why can't I buy gift cards anywhere online?
You can! But you'll probably end up regretting it. Unscrupulous sellers love selling cards and then using the card numbers once they've received payment. Or, they purchase the cards with stolen credit cards which causes the merchant to wipe the balance once the fraud is discovered and leaves you holding the bag. That is why shopping on our secure platform is so important. We screen sellers carefully and protect you with our 45 day buyer protection guarantee.
45 Day guarantee? How does that work?
Glad you asked. Here is how it goes. Say you buy a Home Depot card at 10% off, well done! But when you check the balance before going shopping you see that there is no balance on the card. That's a real bummer. Simply report the claim within the 45 day period and you will receive a refund as soon as our team confirms the discrepancy. More info about our guarantee can be found here .
How many different brands do you carry?
Pretty much any big brand you have ever heard of. We carry more than 1100 retailers including Target, Home Depot, Starbucks, TJ Maxx and more . Obviously availability varies, but discounts are everywhere at CardCash.
Why do your cards have uneven balance amounts?
We sell gift cards that we purchase from regular consumers like yourself. The seller may have used a portion of the card before deciding to sell it.
What is the difference between gift cards, and merchandise or store credits?
Happy to. Merchandise and store credits are issued by merchants when an item is returned to their store without a receipt. Most merchants treat merchandise credits in the same manner as regular gift cards and only issue a different type of card for accounting purposes. Merchandise credits that can be treated in the same manner as a gift card are not specifically singled out on our site as a merchandise credit. If a merchant imposes restrictions on merchandise credits (e.g. only in store use, expiration dates, etc.) they will be listed as accordingly and will have a notification. Depending on the merchant terms and conditions CardCash may even have a separate listing for Gift Cards and Merchandise Credits.
Do you accept orders from outside of the United States?
Sadly not at this time. But hey you never know when that might change.
What payment methods do you accept?
You can purchase your discounted gift cards using a Credit Card or Paypal. Once you have completed a minimum of 3 transactions and intend on making a purchase of over $1,000 you may apply for access to ACH payment. Email a copy of your driver's license, the email that your account is saved under, and a small note requesting access to ACH payment, to [email protected]. Your application will then be reviewed by one of our compliance experts.
Do you accept returns?
Nope sorry. All sales are final. Of course , if a balance discrepancy is reported within the first 45 days, we will refund you according to our 45 day guarantee policy.
Do you ever require additional verification?
Sometimes. If we do we will reach out through your phone number or email address. Once we receive additional verification we should not need it again unless your information changes. Any orders you have placed will not be processed until the verification is complete.
Can I purchase large volumes of gift cards at once?
Sure. If you are interested in buying gift cards in large volumes, $5,000 or more in monthly purchases, please contact us at: [email protected] and a member of our bulk buying team will reach out to you.
Can I use your gift cards for online purchases?
Often you can. We do our best to keep our merchant pages up to date with this kind of information but we recommend you check with the merchant first if it is very important to you. Our legal department refuses to take responsibility for merchant changes, they are sticklers like that.
Do gift cards expire?
Most gift cards never expire. Due to governmental intervention most merchants removed any expiration date from their gift cards. Yeah for the government!
Are there any other steps I should be taking to protect my cards?
Definitely, and this is very important. Use of a secondary marketplace such as CardCash comes with inherent risks. For this reason we strongly recommend that you use your gift cards within our 45 day guarantee period. Also, always check your card balance before going to the store.

Selling gift cards
How do I sell you a gift card I don't want?
It is simple. Follow the easy process on our sell page , you will be done in no time!
How much will you pay me for my gift cards?
Well, it varies. We will pay up 92% of the card value but you won't know if you don't go get an offer on our sell page .
What kind of payments do you offer?
We will pay you cold hard cash via a check in the mail, ACH deposit, or Paypal. Additionally, you can choose to trade your gift card for a brand new gift card from available brands. (Hint: best bang for your buck when you trade).
How long will it take for my payment to arrive?
Payments are typically sent within 1 - 2 days of order approval.
Do I need to mail in gift cards I sell you?
Sometimes. But lots of our cards can be transferred by simply entering the card number and pin into the website. Cool thing is, the site will let you know how to get your card to us. Just get started on our sell page .
How long will it take to get my payment?
Once we receive your order, we do a balance and fraud check on your cards and then issue payment. For cards sold through the 'Mail Cards' option, the time it takes for the card to get to us will obviously affect the payment time. Once we receive the card(s), the payment is typically issued within 24-48 hours. For new customers, there may be some additional information we need before the sale can be completed.
I have a gift card with an expiration date, will you accept them?
Nope. We also have some restrictions around certain promotional gift cards that work only in certain locations or on specific products.
Why do you guys need a credit card when I sell you a card?
Your credit card will be used to help verify your identity, and to protect our community from gift card fraud. We also use a variety of top secret, ultra cool, digital methods of verifying your identity behind the scenes. It is all pretty hush hush though.
Should I purchase a tracking service when mailing you cards?
So here is the thing. We do not accept responsibility for your cards until they arrive at our facility. So if you are sending a whole bunch of cards or high value cards, it is probably a good idea.
Why do I see $1 authorization charge on my credit card, I'm not buying anything?
With every sell order, we place a $1 authorization charge to verify the validity of the credit card you provided. No actual funds will be debited from your card and the charge will fall off on its own within 24 hours.
Can I add a bank card or a debit card to verification a sell order?
Nope. For verification, we need an actual credit card, not a bank or debit card.

Nah, we’re not into those. Printable eCards are delivered to your email box, and physical gift cards are shipped via the US Postal Service, for free.
How long does it take for cards to arrive?
Printable eCards often arrive within minutes and typically arrive within 24 hours unless the order is flagged for review. If it’s past this time frame and you have yet to receive your eCard please make sure to check your spam folder. If you have not received the ecard please contact our customer support team at [email protected].
Physical Cards usually ship within 24 - 48 hours of being placed and may take up to 7 days to arrive. You should receive a confirmation email once your order ships. Orders that qualify for tracking may be tracked by logging into your account, selecting your name in the upper right corner, and then selecting the order in "My Account".
Guarantee policy
Why would gift cards need a guarantee?
New gift cards wouldn’t. However, our cards aren’t new. We buy gift cards from people who don’t want them and resell them at a discount to people like you who love saving money.
My card balance is not as promised, how do I get my money back?
If you are within our 45 day guarantee time frame you are covered! Please report the balance discrepancy within 45 days from the date of purchase. You can file a claim by logging into your account and asking for assistance on your order.

I love discounts. How can I get more?
WIth the CardCash referral program! How does it work? Click here to invite your friends to save money with CardCash. Your friend will receive a $5 coupon immediately after they sign up using your referral link, for use on their first order. Once your friend completes their first purchase, you too, will also receive a $5 coupon reward. Please note: The referral system is only valid for new customers. Only one (1) coupon valid per household and/or IP address. Abuse of the referral system is against our a TOS and may lead to account cancellation and/or a fraud investigation. Minimum order value is $25 to use this coupon.
I referred someone, when do I get my coupon reward?
Once your friend completes their first purchase, you will receive a $5 coupon reward via email. Please note, delivery of this reward coupon may take up to seven (7) business days after your friend's purchase is completed. Valid for new customers only. Only one (1) coupon valid per household and/or IP address.
I 'referred-a-friend', but never received my reward?
It is possible that despite your referral, no order was successfully completed. Note: Orders that are canceled, refunded, denied or result in a chargeback are ineligible for the refer-a-friend program. Other disqualifications include self referrals flagged by our systems or more then the max of 5 referral credits per calendar week.
Can I make multiple accounts in order to make some extra money back?
Of course not. The purpose of this is to spread the word. Please do not try and "game" our system. If we discover that people are creating additional accounts in order to get the bonus this will obviously disqualify them from receiving the money.

How do I unsubscribe from your emails?
Just click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our marketing emails.
I forgot my password, how do I reset it?
Use the reset password link here , or click on the "forgot password" link on the login page. Enter the email address tied to your account and we'll send you an email with a link to create your new CardCash password.
What happened to Facebook login?
We have removed the option of logging in to CardCash with Facebook. If you never created an account password, you'll need to create one. Use the reset password link here and enter the email address tied to your Facebook account. We'll send you an email with a link to create your new CardCash password.
Can I delete my account?
You can delete your account by contacting us at [email protected]. Please note that some data may be retained to meet compliance and legal requirements. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more information about data retention.
